A Statement in Steel and Light
This installation focused on delivering a large-scale glazed façade that maximises light, visibility, and architectural presence, while maintaining the strength and precision required for a commercial setting.
Set within a wide structural opening, the steel system spans approximately 6 metres in width and over 3 metres in height, creating a full-height frontage that immediately defines the space. The slim-profile steel grid introduces rhythm and proportion across the elevation, allowing the structure to feel expansive without becoming visually heavy.
The design balances scale with refinement. Despite the size of the opening, sightlines remain consistent throughout, ensuring the framework feels considered and cohesive rather than dominant. This is particularly important at this scale, where even small inconsistencies become highly visible.
Externally, the façade reflects its surroundings, enhancing natural light while maintaining a strong visual connection between inside and out. Internally, it creates a bright, open environment suited to both commercial and customer-facing use.
Finished in a dark, architectural steel tone, the result is a clean, confident frontage that combines presence with precision, demonstrating how steel can handle large openings without compromising on detail.
If you are working on projects that require large-span steel doors or windows, Charlton Kings Interiors specialises in bespoke systems designed for architectural precision.
From initial concept through to installation, we ensure scale, proportion, and performance are resolved from the outset.
