Project insights
As part of a ground-floor renovation in this terraced home, the brief was to maximise natural light while retaining warmth and acoustic separation. Existing walls were removed to open up the living space, with bespoke steel glazing used to define areas without closing them off.
A newly formed arched opening over 3.5 metres high was carefully designed to mirror the home’s original heritage arch and fitted with arched double steel doors. A 6-metre-wide set of slim-profile steel doors with fixed side panels now separates the living room and hallway, flooding both spaces with light while reducing noise from the staircase and keeping the home warm.
Finished in a textured bronze steel with antique brass handles and pulls, the final result blends modern open-plan living with the character and elegance of a period home.
If you are specifying bespoke steel doors for 2026 projects, Charlton Kings Interiors offers ultra-slim, fully bespoke steel profiles engineered for architectural precision. With great lead-times, we are well suited to programme-critical builds and time-sensitive, high-value residential and commercial developments.
